Gare Maritime selected for Design Matters
Gare Maritime has been selected by the CCCB for Design Matters: In Favor of Urban Public Space, an international exhibition reflecting on 25 years of the European Prize for Urban Public Space.

Initiated by the CCCB, Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona in 2000, the European Prize has developed into an important platform for recognising and debating the creation and transformation of public space in European cities. Over 12 editions, the Prize has received around 2,800 submissions, with 413 projects selected for its archive.
For Design Matters, the CCCB has drawn from this 25-year history to create a curated selection of projects that have contributed to the development and debate on contemporary public space.

We are honoured that Gare Maritime is among the projects selected for this international retrospective, highlighting the potential of transformation and reuse to give existing urban structures a new public life.

The exhibition opened on 10 September at the Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture at The City College of New York. A second edition opened on 19 September at the Centro Cultural de España in Mexico City as part of Mextrópoli.

Our thanks to the CCCB and the European Prize for Urban Public Space for continuing to bring important projects, ideas and debates on the city to an international audience.
