Rozet featured in “Forms Forward” exhibition at Het Nieuwe Instituut

Celebrating 20 years of BNA Best Building of the Year

We are proud to announce that our project Rozet in Arnhem will be part of the exhibition “Forms Forward – 20 Years of BNA Best Building of the Year” at Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam. The exhibition marks two decades of architectural excellence and cultural impact, as celebrated by the Branchevereniging Nederlandse Architectenbureaus (BNA).

Rozet was awarded the title BNA Best Building of the Year 2014, with the jury praising the project for its exemplary spatial complexity and public character. As a multifunctional hub combining a public library, heritage center, art institutions, and a café, Rozet exemplifies how architecture can function as a cultural catalyst within the urban fabric. The building was also lauded for its strong integration into the historic and future-facing areas of Arnhem.

Through the “Forms Forward” exhibition, the BNA reflects on how Dutch architecture has evolved over the past twenty years — from iconic gestures to layered, socially embedded spaces. The show explores how design contributes to themes such as sustainability, urban inclusivity, and community-based development. It invites the public to consider the future of architecture through the lens of built work.

In 2016, Stadhuiskwartier in Deventer won the Public Prize and the category Identity & Iconic Value, becoming one of the most beloved civic buildings in the Netherlands. The city hall, praised for its integration into the medieval city center and its contemporary expressiveness, stands as a testament to the power of architecture to engage citizens and embody local identity.
